NOVEMBER’S GUEST SPEAKER
The November 1st meeting of the Woman’s Service Club of Windham featured Bryant Tolles of the NH Humanities Council, assisted by his wife, Carolyn. Author and former Professor Tolles shared stories and a slide show of the history and architecture of the grand resort hotels and the growth of hospitality tourism in the White Mountains of NH from the pre-Civil War era to the present. The primary focus was on the surviving grand resort hotels: the Mount Washington, the Mountain View Grand, and the Balsams. It was an historically intriguing presentation followed by questions and answer time with the audience.
