PASSING THE CASH BASKET

At our October meeting members opened their wallets for contributions toward Christmas gifts for our Veterans at the Manchester Veterans’ Hospital. We collected $91 from our basket collection. Along with an anonymous donation and funds budgeted by the club, we will be able to provide our veterans with a $10 coupon for spending at the hospital “canteen” for articles of their own choosing.

Additional donations are welcomed and may be mailed to WSCW Treasurer Su Bennett at 142 Castle Hill Road, Windham NH 03087.  Our veterans thank you!

SERVING U.S. VETERANS

This September, the WSCW Veterans’ Project begins another year with plans for hosting a monthly coffee with muffins for residents of the Community Living Center at the Veterans’ Hospital in Manchester.  Bingo games every other month are also planned, along with an annual cookout and a Christmas celebration with small gifts for all the residents.  The Veterans’ Committee could use a few more volunteer members for Bingo.  To help with this project, please contact one of the Co-Chairs, Valerie Bronstein or Aileen Stearns, at valerie@bronstein.org or aileenstearns@yahoo.com.
